Ramadan Mubarak 2024

A thin crescent  🌙  appeared, its shines bright with purity. It gives a glimpse and then sets swiftly but quickly.

Yes, this is the Ramadan crescent, and holy Ramadan begins now and continues until the next crescent is sighted.

Remember, this month is not just about abstaining from food and drinks, but also abstaining from all wrongdoings, unjust favoritism, and corruption. It's a time to purify souls, show favor to humanity, and contribute to making a more inclusive world.

I wish a happy Ramadan to our families and friends. Allah accepts our good deeds and duas, Ameen.

International Women Day IWD 2024

Accenture Southeast Asia celebrated IWD 2024, and the celebration was a great reflection of the efforts made by individuals and organizations from various industries and geographical locations over time.

"There is no complete celebration until all get celebrated" reminds us that everyone should have an equal opportunity to prove themselves before being excluded from the task.

After hearing distinguished panelists Ashmita AcharyaWee Wei NgPreeti Arora RazdanMark Tham, and moderator Anca Vasilescu almost all echo that everyone needs to be brave and resilient in all situations, which will lead you to do not only good things but the right thing.

We all admire in our life how women are the center point to infuse resiliency, empathy, respect, and many more in childhood and those become personality traits that women highly likely your mother and it could be sister, neighbors, Nanny, school teacher, and many more.

At some point in our lives, we all admire women who have infused resilience, empathy, respect, and many more qualities in our childhood. These traits often become an integral part of the personalities, and the woman is not limited to a mother but it could be a sister, nanny, school teacher, and many more.

I feel grateful to hear amazing personal stories, and how societies have changed tremendously in the last 20 years, and much improvement in Asian countries during this time. This progress needs to continue for the establishment of an inclusive and diverse society.

The great news is that on 14 June 2017, Accenture set a goal to achieve a gender-balanced workforce (50% men and 50% women) by 2025, and it's on the right track to achieving this.

Let's all continue to put effort into building inclusive, diverse, and gender bias-free workplaces to create an innovative and prosperous society.

Happy International Women's Day! “Be Without Limits”

Meeting the Hiring Manager on Her Last Day

I remember when I joined Accenture back in 2019; it was the first time I met Cecilia Lim in the Accenture Singapore Office, and she became my hiring manager.

It was recommended by another Managing Director (MD) within Accenture for hiring, who is a seasoned leader with the ability to guide the team to success and achieve targets. Many of his team members have accomplished professional and personal goals while working with him and I felt lucky I have been recognized by him,  but when he referred me to another MD, I felt a bit uncomfortable about how a new person would be.

I went to the office to meet Cecilia Lim, and after meeting I found she is very friendly. It's amazing to meet the MD of such a big company with so much ease. I found a great listener, and in a few moments, I sensed trust eventually, it brought natural comfort. These initial gestures and trust gave me confidence and a sense of belonging, which helped me create a direct communication channel to discuss the offer and my expectations, and finally accepted the offer and joined Accenture in May 2020.

After joining, I began the project by working remotely, as COVID-19 had spread worldwide. I never had a chance to meet in person, and over time, project commitments did not permit time for formal or informal meetings.

After some time, the organizational structure changed, and we worked in different verticals. We never got a chance to meet in person, and then we received the news that "Cecilia is leaving Accenture." Immediately, I thought I must meet her before she left, so I made a plan to meet her.

Then, my colleague Vivek Kaul (who became a good friend during work on the same project) and I met her in Singapore's most serene and charming place for an early dinner, where we delved into the past, present, and future.

We enjoyed the food and the vicinity, and the echoes of priorities over time and behavior go a long way in both personal and professional life.

- Spend time with family and cherish the present, especially with kids; once they grow up, those moments become everlasting.
- If anyone exhibits rude and unnecessary unkind behavior, they will be removed from the priority list and become the last choice for professional progress.
- Adjust your priorities as needed between professional and personal life. "Overall progress is a genuine success; if success is on one side and failure on the other, you will realize that overall, you have failed."
- Be open and responsive; it will save time and energy, and people will trust you.
- When you realize you are stuck or stagnant in your career path, take bold steps to move forward.
- Be kind, be open, and love what you do.

Cecilia Lim has now moved to Deloitte to pursue her career—best wishes to her in future endeavors.

Plastic ubiquitous damage environment and marine life

The world is facing the biggest environmental problem in history, which looks inevitable at this stage. Still, we have enough time to prevent more environmental damage. For this world leaders, societies, communities, and individuals should take a step ahead to take immediate action. The first thing which can be started immediately from government, plastic should be ban for single uses and supermarket and individuals should follow strictly. Awareness in the society is an integral part to follow strict laws but law enforcement plays a significant role to adopt laws in the society without fail. I would urge people and authorities to take immediate action to prevent environmental damage.
